December!!

Wow! Happy December everyone!  I can't believe 24 days until Christmas and then New Years!  This crazy year has flown by so quickly!

7 weeks and my lil girly will be 4!!  Now that is craziness for sure!  I keep having memories of when she was in the Hospital NICU and how she was a beautiful baby, and now I look and she's a beautiful Lil' Miss. =)  Toby and I are so proud of her.  

I hope all you're Christmas shopping is almost finished, and you remember that during the holidays that its about love and togetherness not madness!

MANIC MONDAY!

Well, well, well!! A little more than a week until Thanksgiving!!  Wow so much to be thankful for, but that will be my thirteen thursday post next week!! =)  I haven't kept up like I should and I know that I was going to have a few weeks where I just plain forget about this blog o' mine.  

Well as most of you know (cause you are creepers on my FB) that our goals for the land are right on track and we're sooo excited about it.   Only one winter left here in this house (God willing).  

As these months are passing quickly I'm growing more excited and nervous at the same time.  Adjusting from city to country life is going to be challenging in a lot of ways.  And having a yard a huge yard!  

Cassie is maturing so quickly and its fun for us to watch her becoming excited as well seeing the changes in the "forest" as she calls it.   She know we'll have a new house etc.  

Anywho enough about my silly ramblings!   Have a great week and Thanksgiving!!

Let the holiday festivities BEGIN!!  This is a fast time of year with every month having something major happening!  So much easier and more fun now that Cassie is older and easier to manage.  So hopefully you all get to spend the next few months with family and friends and know how really blessed we are to be surrounded by people that care, and love us!!

Halloween Weekend!

Yay! Halloween weekend!  Time for some fun.  Carving pumpkins, eating pumpkin seeds, the crisp fall air.  Ahhh yes I love it!  Halloween will be fun as Cassie is getting older, this year bumble bee and next she she already announced she wants to be a Pirate!  We'll see if she changes her mind this year, last year she was set on the bee the whole time.

"Land Warming"

Our Land Warming party was so much fun.  Although quite a few people we invited couldn't make it we had a great turn out.  It is exciting to think that this time next year we will hopefully have another party and have a house!  It's such a process, and I'm so thankful that Toby knows so many people and can take care of most of the details.  Regardless of some of the stress points, its such a blessing to be able to go to our land and be at peace.  To feel like we're at home already, as Cassie says every time we pull up "we're home!"  Her being part of this, I really hope she'll remember some things.  I hope even Toby and I will look back on these memories and see how far we've come, even now 8 years later. 

Well next few weeks we're excited about Halloween!!  Party next Saturday, and the following week Trick-Or- Treating!

We're Proof Miracles Happen

Most of you know that we bought 2 acers of land in August and are planning on building our dream home.  We got good news today that everything is fine with being able to put a septic system in so that means we can go ahead with everything and start with putting in the well and underground electrical like we wanted to before Thanksgiving!!!  

Hopefully everything will go as planned but we know that this is such a huge blessing and it's not in just our hands.  Being patient, and smart financially definitely has its perks!  So we're praying that this will be our last winter here in the duplex!

Things You Wish For While You're a Sick Mom

1. Sleep

2. Take a long hot bath

3. Take the required amount of Vitamin C

4. Someone to make your meals

5. The house stays clean

6. It's quiet

7. You can relax

8.  No dirty dishes

9. You can take medicine at night that actually helps you sleep

10.  Can sleep in during the mornings

11. Not feel bad that you don't want to play

12. Not be upset knowing that your SO can sleep in bed all day when their sick but you have to keep moving on as if nothing is wrong.....or is that just my house??

13. Have a day off!

or just sum it up as wanting a maid, cook and just some silence and sleep

We MADE it!

Ok so on our 3rd attempt this year Cassie and I made it to the summit of Monument Mtn. in Great Barrington!  The other two times we tried w/ my mom and couldn't make it.  It was because Toby was able to carry Cass on his shoulders for some of the way up and on the way down.  It will be 8 years ago this Nov. when Toby and I did it just ourselves. It will be easier and easier now that Cassie is getting older to do the more outdoor things that Toby and I enjoyed as a couple.  

We're waiting on the phone call that tells us that everyone is will ready for the next step with the land.  Hopefully we can find two perfect holes so we can proceed w/ the plans. (need to see if we have enough soil to put a septic system in on the property w/o hitting ledge).  It's a curve ball thrown into our plans, but I think God just wants to remind us that he's in control since everything else so far has been smooth sailing. 

So onto the rest of our weekend, tomorrow hopefully will just be a lazy day after church.  Next weekend we'll be busy yet again w/ birthday party's.  I get torn w/ loving the weather during spring,summer and fall being able to be outdoors, but we're always so busy.  We get a break in the winter BUT then we get bored of being cooped up!  Got to love New England I suppose. =)

Autmn Begins

♥ Wow, the first day of Autumn already!  My favorite time of year.  I love the beauty of  the leaves when they turn, the sound of the crunch under my feet.  The bonfires, cool nights, pumpkins, apple cider, and seeing the family more, and of course Halloween!

    Cass has decided since last year to be a Bumblebee for Halloween this year! 

We go and have a great time with my SIL and BIL's and Cassie and my nephew Johnny go Trick-Or-Treating together then we all have Pizza for dinner...such fun!!  

So we've been apple picking at Lakeview Orchard in Lanesboro  http://www.lakevieworchard.com/welcome.html already and hope to go to Ioka Valley Farm http://iokavalleyfarm.com/ soon too...I hear its less packed then Whitney's and a lot bigger.  Carrie and I plan to take a trip in the next few weeks.

Ok so here I go....I finally decided to do my own BLOG!  I enjoy Face book but this gives me the chance to go into depth about things.  I think I'm going to use this like a journal, post feelings thoughts about our upcoming house building, our decision to home school Cassie next fall...etc.  So leave comments and hopefully I won't be too boring for you! =)
